The conscious line: the Investigator (1)

The unconscious line: the Martyr (3)

It makes sure life pulls you into experiences no book could anticipate: plans get overturned, paths turn out to be dead ends, things end differently than expected. In Human Design this is not considered bad luck but a method: through “this doesn’t work,” Line 3 finds out what actually holds. While you experience yourself as methodical, this side of you is tirelessly gathering hands-on knowledge.
