What it's about
Gate 7 lies in the G Center and stands in the system for the role of the self in leadership: the ability to recognize patterns, think ahead, and propose a direction to a community. The I Ching hexagram "The Army" paints the picture of a force that organizes and aligns — effective not through volume, but through order and trust. This leadership often works indirectly: as counsel, strategy, or quiet influence on those who stand out front.
When the gate is activated
With Gate 7 activated, you frequently find yourself in the role where others ask you which way to go — in the club, on the team, in the family. Many people find that their proposals land best when the group has invited them, rather than when they push themselves forward. As a hanging gate, Gate 7 seeks its counterpart in Gate 31 at the Throat: people with that voice of influence often attract you especially, because they can articulate and champion what you see strategically — a natural division of labor, not something missing on your side.
