Gate 10 — Self-Acceptance
How you treat yourself colors everything: your decisions, your relationships, the way you carry yourself. Human Design locates this theme in Gate 10 — the gate of self-acceptance.

What it's about
Gate 10 lies in the G Center and is considered in the system the gate of behavior: the way you meet yourself, and how that shapes the way you show up in the world. The I Ching hexagram "Treading" describes exactly that — walking your own path with poise. At its core is self-love, not as a wellness platitude but as a foundation: the one who accepts themselves doesn't have to bend out of shape. What stands out is how strongly networked this gate is — it forms three channels at once, to the Throat, the Sacral, and the Spleen.
When the gate is activated
With Gate 10 activated, you feel clearly when you are true to yourself and when you are playing a role — the latter visibly drains you. Many people find that their mere way of being encourages others to be more authentic too. As a hanging gate, Gate 10 seeks several counterparts at once: Gate 20 (Throat), Gate 34 (Sacral), and Gate 57 (Spleen). People with these activations often attract you noticeably — they bring expression, power, or intuition to help you live your self-loyalty. That is attraction as complement, not a sign that something is missing in you.
In everyday life
An example: at your new job, the department's tone suggests coming across as sharp as possible in meetings. After two weeks you notice this role doesn't suit you — and you stay with your calm, clear manner. Surprisingly, your standing grows precisely because of it. That is how Gate 10 works: it rewards you not for conforming but for being real. A good everyday test is the question: "Would I behave this way if no one were watching?" Whether Gate 10 belongs to your design: calculate your chart.
