“I’ve never done that before — so let’s go.” There are people whose résumé reads like a travelogue through professions, countries, and loves. In Human Design, Channel 35–36 describes this hunger for experience: the need to live life in its full range firsthand.

What this channel connects
Gate 35 at the Throat wants to move on: new places, new people, new challenges — progress as a way of life. Gate 36 in the Solar Plexus adds the emotional depth: every experience is felt all the way through, the stormy ones included. Together, in the system, they form the great channel of experience in the collective experiential stream: life is not understood in theory but lived through — with highs, lows, and everything in between. Out of the sum of experiences something ripens that this channel later shares generously: lived wisdom.
How it shows up
People with a defined Channel 35–36 get bored quickly with the same old thing. Many experience their life in chapters: intense phases full of the new, then saturation, then the next departure. The people around them benefit twice — from their stories and from their experiential knowledge: the one who has lived through something can speak of it differently than someone who has only read about it. The invitation of this channel is timing: since in the system it is coupled to the emotional wave, it pays not to decide big leaps at the peak of an enthusiasm, but to let the mood run its full course once. Experience for experience’s sake then remains richness — instead of a flight from stillness.
Electromagnetic
When one person has Gate 35 and another has Gate 36, an electromagnetic connection arises in Human Design: both gates attract each other because together they form the whole channel. The side with Gate 35 brings the appetite for what is next; the side with Gate 36 brings the emotional intensity that makes experiences meaningful. Such pairs collect shared adventures the way others collect stamps — and are still telling the stories years later. The connection feels like a constant “what shall we experience next?”.
