How to Read This Report

This report speaks to you – Jonas is the second person in your couple chart. It describes how your two charts work together and gives no score: every connection has easy and demanding spots, and both sides are equally valuable.

Human Design is a system of lived experience. Keep what proves true in your everyday life, and let the rest go. You’ll get the most out of the report if you read it together and talk about it.

Chapter 1

How You Work Together

This report reads your two charts together — for every kind of relationship, whether love, friendship, family or work. It describes how your types and strategies mesh, which channels arise between you, who completes whom in which area, and how you find closeness and freedom. None of it is a verdict: both sides are equally valuable, and every connection has easy and demanding spots. Read it as an invitation to talk, ideally together, if Jonas feels like it.

Generator and Manifestor

Here, beginnings meet stamina. The Manifestor among you acts on their own impulse, works in bursts and needs freedom rather than permission; the Generator needs something their gut can respond to, and then has strength for a long time. Friction arises when the Manifestor gets going without announcing it — the Generator then feels passed over — or when the Generator slows things down with follow-up questions where the Manifestor only wanted to inform. A sentence like “I'm painting the living room this weekend” becomes an invitation for the Generator to sense a yes or a no. As a couple, a ritual helps: first let the other know, then answer clearly.

What You Bring

You are a Manifestor with Emotional Authority. Your profile is 1/4 (definition: Single), and your Personality Sun is in Gate 12, Line 1.

Jonas is a Generator with Sacral Authority. Jonas has Profile 3/5 (definition: Single), and their Personality Sun is in Gate 44, Line 3.

Closely Connected

Defined together: 8 of 9 centers

With seven or eight centers defined together, your relationship is dense: almost everywhere, consistent energy flows between you. That can feel like a little universe of your own — you understand each other quickly, have a lot of strength together and need little from outside. The same density, though, leaves little leeway. After long days together, sometimes neither of you knows exactly what's your own mood and what's shared. Fixed times alone help, as do friendships of your own and places where each of you is by yourself. Afterward, you often come back together all the more gladly.

Chapter 2

Deciding as a Pair

Each person decides with their own inner authority, and each authority has its own pace; there is no shared couple authority. Here you first read how you decide, then how Jonas decides, and finally a rule for your shared questions. Many conflicts are less about the content than about the timing: whoever knows the other's pace has to push less.

Emotional Authority: Your Clarity Comes with Time

Mia · Emotional Authority

You decide through an emotional wave: what excites you today seems doubtful tomorrow and different again the day after. Only the calm yes that is still there after a few nights is reliable. If Jonas suggests a vacation rental one evening that has to be booked by midnight, you may be all fired up right away — and that's exactly when waiting pays off. Say early on how much time you need: “I'll let you know on Friday” takes the pressure off without closing the door. What you need most from Jonas is for the question to be allowed to stay open, without probing and without time pressure.

Sacral Authority: A Clear Question, a Quick Answer

Jonas · Sacral Authority

When it comes to decisions, Jonas answers in the moment, from the gut, with a palpable yes or no. Time to think doesn't make this answer better — a good question does. Instead of “What do you think, should we move?” it's better to ask “Do you want this apartment?”, ideally so that yes or no is enough. If a quick no comes, that isn't rudeness but clear information, which often finds its reason only afterward. For you, this means: two short questions in a row rather than one long, open one. If Jonas says yes out of habit, it often shows up later as frustration.

Knowing at Once, Waiting a Night

One of you knows in the moment, the other needs the emotional wave and often several nights. This is where a typical friction over pace lies. The rule for shared decisions: the quick answer is spoken and left to stand, and the timing of the decision follows the wave. The quick one has an open Solar Plexus and feels the other's wave too; the restlessness while waiting is therefore not always their own. The one with the wave names a day when the answer will come.

Chapter 3

The Channels Between You

For each of the 36 channels, this report checks whether and how you share it. Four types of connection are possible: electromagnetic, compromise, dominance and companionship. For each type that occurs between you, there's first a short explanation, followed by your channels and what each of you brings to them. No type is better than another; each describes its own form of closeness.

Your connection profile: 4 electromagnetic channels · 1 compromise channel · 3 dominance channels · 0 companionship channels.

Electromagnetic: Together, a Channel Arises

In an electromagnetic connection, each of you brings one gate of a channel, and neither of you has the whole channel. Only together is it completed: something arises that neither of you knows alone. This brings attraction and friction from the same source, often exactly what draws two people to each other and at the same time makes them rub against each other. It helps to put this intensity into perspective instead of dramatizing it, and to plan time alone to sense what belongs to whom.

Channel 4–63 — From Doubt to Answer

your Gate 63 · Gate 4 (Jonas)

You and Jonas form Channel 4–63 together: one of you brings the critical question (Gate 63), the other the possible answer (Gate 4). Together you think things through more thoroughly than either of you would alone.

Depending on which half you bring, an open doubt finds its logical answer during this time — or an explanation you've long had meets the critical question that tests it. That makes it a good moment to sort out what's unclear, double-check assumptions or put solid reasoning behind a decision. Write down what comes to you and review it later with a calm mind. Thoughts about your own life can remain hypotheses here rather than verdicts.

Mercury · unconscious: With the completing gate in their unconscious Mercury, Jonas lets the channel speak between the lines — in a tone and timing that Jonas hardly perceives but you hear clearly.

Channel 23–43 — Making Your Own Knowing Understood

your Gate 23 · Gate 43 (Jonas)

One of you brings Gate 23, the other Gate 43: a personal insight finds its words, and in your conversations there's often a sense of “Finally, someone understands me.”

Your own insights find a way out during this time. Thoughts that are usually hard to get across can more easily be phrased so others can follow them. You may suddenly say clearly what you've only sensed for a long time, or find the right image for an unusual concept. Timing still matters: the same idea that draws frowns when nobody asked for it convinces when someone is really listening. Write your insights down and share them where there's genuine interest.

Saturn · unconscious: If the completing gate lies in the unconscious Saturn, the channel quietly tests how committed you are — Jonas brings order into it without noticing, and what you build patiently lasts a long time.

Channel 28–38 — Wrestling for What Counts

your Gate 38 · Gate 28 (Jonas) · other planets from Jonas: Pluto (unconscious)

You carry one of the two gates, Jonas carries the other: one of you senses what's worth the effort, the other brings stamina in the face of resistance. Together you're a team of fighters, as long as you stand on the same side.

The question of meaning becomes more pressing during this time, and with it the willingness to stand up for something. Resistance may put you off less than usual; if anything, it energizes you. It's a good phase to stick with a project that truly means something to you, even when others have long since given up on it. The art lies in choosing: not every conflict deserves your strength. With every battle, ask whether it brings you closer to what matters or just drains your energy.

Pluto · conscious: Because Jonas carries the completing gate in their conscious Pluto, the channel goes deep — Jonas wants the truth behind things here, and something fundamental can transform between you.

Channel 19–49 — A Feel for Needs and Principles

your Gate 49 · Gate 19 (Jonas) · other planets from Jonas: Jupiter (conscious), Jupiter (unconscious)

One of you brings Gate 19, the other Gate 49: need meets principle, and together you negotiate closeness in a way that takes both of you seriously — intense and built to last.

Your radar for needs becomes more finely tuned now, and principles come into sharper focus: what does someone need — and is the arrangement between you fair? You may notice sooner when someone in your family, relationship or team is being shortchanged — including you. Rejection may also hit harder than usual in this phase. Take that as a signal, not a verdict on a relationship, and preferably make fundamental decisions about closeness or separation once you've gained a little distance.

Earth · unconscious: With the completing gate in their unconscious Earth, Jonas gives the channel a quiet foundation: it steadies you without Jonas noticing, and you often sense first how reliably it holds.

Compromise: One Carries the Whole Channel

In a compromise connection, one of you has the whole channel, the other only one of its two gates. The one with the whole channel lives the theme consistently and often sets the tone there. The one who brings only one half experiences that this half is easily outvoted next to the whole channel. That's mechanics, not fault. Helpful for one side: leave room and don't lecture. For the other: live your own gate in other places too, instead of fighting for it.

Channel 10–34 — Powerful Self-Fidelity

Jonas has the whole channel, you Gate 10

You bring one half: either faithfulness to your principles (Gate 10) or a strong, independent life force (Gate 34). Because Jonas connects both, that way of living often prevails between you, not through discussion but through action. Your stance or your energy seems to have little effect next to it. That's the mechanics of the channel, not a judgment about you. Instead of pushing back, live your half where it counts fully, in a project, a sport, a conviction of your own. And it helps when Jonas asks before simply deciding.

Dominance: One Shapes, the Other Resonates

In a dominance connection, one of you has the whole channel and the other neither of its two gates. One shapes the theme between you; the other experiences it too, often amplified, and easily takes it for their own. In Human Design this is called conditioning; it's neither good nor bad. It helps to enjoy what is amplified and then let it go again. And whoever carries the channel can know that their own state reaches the other, even without words.

Channel 12–22 — Expression with Depth

you have the whole channel, Jonas neither of its gates

You have the whole Channel 12–22; Jonas has neither of the two gates. Your expression audibly carries your mood outward, and Jonas takes it in: near you, Jonas may become more talkative, more emotional or, on your quiet days, completely silent. That's resonance, not weakness; Jonas experiences your theme amplified and sometimes takes it for a personal mood. For you, this means: on heavy days, say it briefly — “I'm quiet today; it has nothing to do with you.” And Jonas is free to observe how the mood feels on a day without you.

Channel 2–14 — Direction with a Tailwind

Jonas has the whole channel, you neither of its gates

When Jonas follows something that fits, you feel it in your own body: suddenly the path seems clear, and the energy to walk it is there. You take in this quality and sometimes experience it more strongly than the person who carries it. It's a gift, and at the same time not a fixed trait of your chart. So also check decisions about your life path at times when you're apart. Your open area here is not a deficiency, because you can experience direction very flexibly. It's good when Jonas knows how strongly that course pulls you along.

Channel 5–15 — A Rhythm of Your Own

Jonas has the whole channel, you neither of its gates

When Jonas is around, your day finds a rhythm as if by itself: you eat at the same time, get up at similar hours, and the routine feels right. You take in this beat and sometimes experience it more strongly than the person who carries it. That's a lovely support. But don't treat it as your own measure, because alone your rhythm may look different, more changeable or calmer. Your open area makes you rhythmically adaptable. It's good when Jonas knows how strongly that beat reaches you.

Chapter 4

The Centers Between You

Here are all nine centers, each with its state between you: both defined, one defined and one open, both open, or defined only as a pair. Defined centers send consistently; open ones take in and amplify. This creates understanding, closeness and shared fields of learning. Read each center as a question about your everyday life: where do you give each other support, and where do you learn together?

Head – defined only as a pair

On your own, the Head Center is open in both of you; only when you're together does an electromagnetic channel define it and give it a fixed source. Then questions and ideas bubble up, one conversation leads to the next, and you inspire each other as if by themselves. After a few days apart, you notice that this flow is quieter — not a loss, but the difference between each of you alone and the two of you as a pair. What helps: use your shared inspiration deliberately for plans and ideas, and don't keep turning over on your own the questions that only press when you're together.

Ajna – defined only as a pair

On your own, you both think flexibly and openly. Together, an electromagnetic channel defines the Ajna, and suddenly a shared certainty arises: in conversation, you quickly reach clear assessments and feel sure of them. Alone, this firmness is gone again, and some convictions then feel less compelling. That only shows they belong to the two of you as a pair. What helps: by all means use shared assessments, but also check important decisions alone with your own authority. Time to yourselves shows each of you which thoughts hold up without the other too.

Throat – defined only for you

Your voice and your actions have a fixed way out; Jonas takes in this energy. Some people with an open Throat Center talk more, faster or louder in such closeness, while others grow quieter and can hardly find a way in. It helps you to know: pauses are an invitation, because that's how Jonas finds the right moment instead of jumping into your sentences. At the same time, it's good for Jonas to know: an open Throat Center doesn't have to fill every silence; what's said at the right moment lands. That way you listen to each other better.

G Center – defined only for Jonas

Next to a person with a consistent identity, your open G Center takes in this clarity: in such closeness, you often know more precisely where you want to go and feel you've arrived. That can lead to deep connection. Make sure you don't align your direction entirely with someone else's. For an open G Center, places and people are especially important: cultivate spots and friendships where you feel good on your own too. And it does you both good when Jonas understands their own direction as an offer, not as a yardstick for you.

Heart/Ego – open for both of you

Between you, there's no fixed will setting the pace. That can be relaxing: you demand less achievement of each other and can keep plans loose. One shared field of learning is dealing with expectations from outside — from bosses, family or ambitious friends, whose will you both take in and amplify. Then you may both commit to more than is good for you. That you both know this makes you understanding toward each other. What helps: check commitments together before you make them, and remind each other that worth doesn't have to be earned.

Spleen – defined only as a pair

On your own, you're both sensitive to moods and like to hold on to the familiar. Together, an electromagnetic channel defines the Spleen: you feel safe and relaxed and sense in the moment what's right — many people experience this as a feeling of being sheltered. Alone, this security can fade, and small fears speak up again. That doesn't mean one of you is lacking something; the well-being belongs to your relationship. What helps: enjoy the shared sense of shelter, and still check alone what's good for each of you, so that support doesn't turn into clinging.

Sacral – defined only for Jonas

Next to an enduring engine, your open Sacral Center takes in a lot of life force. You may feel more awake, work longer and join in with things you wouldn't have the strength for alone. That's a lovely part of your connection. Just make sure you don't run at someone else's pace for good: an open Sacral Center doesn't know on its own when enough is enough. What helps: stop before you're exhausted, and lie down early to release what you've taken in. It's a relief when Jonas doesn't turn their own stamina into a yardstick for you.

Solar Plexus – defined only for you

Your feelings move in waves; Jonas takes them in and experiences them amplified. That creates a deep emotional connection — Jonas senses very precisely how you're doing. At the same time, Jonas may take your waves for their own or avoid conflicts to keep the mood calm. You can help with this: your wave reaches the other person, even without words; feel free to say when you're in a low. And Jonas is free to take some distance to sense which feelings are still there afterward.

Root – defined only as a pair

Alone, you both tend to feel pressure from outside, without a fixed rhythm of your own. Together, an electromagnetic channel defines the Root Center: you gain momentum, clear away what's been left lying and tackle what has waited a long time. Apart, this drive eases off again, and some things stay put until you see each other again. That's not a lack of discipline but the mechanics of the two of you as a pair. What helps: deliberately put pending tasks into your time together, notice when you rush each other, and enjoy alone the calm that arises without this pressure.

Chapter 5

Who Completes Whom

This chapter looks in both directions: first, which of your hanging gates Jonas completes, then which ones you complete. Each completion names the planet the completing gate comes from and how it colors the channel. Where this changes type, authority or definition in the couple chart, it is described separately. You remain who you are; the completion shows what becomes available between you in addition.

Uranus, Neptune and Pluto move so slowly that they often stay in the same gate for years. A coloring from these planets is shared by many people born around the same time; it describes a generation more than an individual. The faster a planet moves — the Moon, Sun and Earth, Mercury, Venus, Mars — the more personal the coloring.

Jonas Completes You

If one of you has a gate whose counterpart is missing from your own chart — a hanging gate — and the other brings exactly this matching gate, a channel is completed between you. Here you can see which of your hanging gates Jonas completes, and which hanging gates Jonas has that you complete. Each completing gate shows which planet it comes from, conscious or unconscious — that colors how the channel feels between you.

Channel 4–63: your Gate 63 is waiting for Gate 4 – Jonas brings it (Mercury, unconscious). With the completing gate in their unconscious Mercury, Jonas lets the channel speak between the lines — in a tone and timing that Jonas hardly perceives but you hear clearly.

Channel 23–43: your Gate 23 is waiting for Gate 43 – Jonas brings it (Saturn, unconscious). If the completing gate lies in the unconscious Saturn, the channel quietly tests how committed you are — Jonas brings order into it without noticing, and what you build patiently lasts a long time.

Channel 28–38: your Gate 38 is waiting for Gate 28 – Jonas brings it (Pluto, conscious; Pluto, unconscious). Because Jonas carries the completing gate in their conscious Pluto, the channel goes deep — Jonas wants the truth behind things here, and something fundamental can transform between you.

Channel 19–49: your Gate 49 is waiting for Gate 19 – Jonas brings it (Earth, unconscious; Jupiter, conscious; Jupiter, unconscious). With the completing gate in their unconscious Earth, Jonas gives the channel a quiet foundation: it steadies you without Jonas noticing, and you often sense first how reliably it holds.

How the Mechanics Change for You

Together, channels are completed that neither of you has alone. As a result, your couple chart can show different mechanics than your individual charts — a different type, a different authority, or a definition that joins together. This describes the energy available between you: you remain who you are, and so does Jonas, but together you can have a different effect.

Chapter 6

Your Profiles and Lines

The profile describes how someone learns, builds trust and develops closeness. First you read about your profile in relationships, then about the profile of Jonas. After that comes where your lines resonate: Lines 1 and 4, 2 and 5, 3 and 6 each form an axis, and identical lines act like a mirror. Resonance explains familiarity; difference points to a field of learning.

Your profiles 1/4 and 3/5 sit on different line axes – you bring different roles that can complement each other.

Your Profile 1/4: Knowledge and Friendship as a Foundation

Mia · Profile 1/4

With Profile 1/4, closeness rests on two pillars for you: understanding and trust. You want to know the other person thoroughly before you commit, and ideally that happens within a familiar circle; love often begins for you as friendship or through mutual acquaintances. Once you're sure, you stay loyal and steady. Your unconscious 4 needs stability, and changes come more easily when the new is already tangible. With Jonas, closeness grows above all through reliability, shared friends and open conversations, less through grand gestures.

Profile 3/5: Learning Closeness by Living It

Jonas · Profile 3/5

With Profile 3/5, Jonas learns about relationships through experience: what holds shows up along the way, with attempts, detours and fresh starts. A shared plan that turns out differently than expected isn't failure for Jonas but experience. Then there's the unconscious 5, onto which others like to project expectations; perhaps you, too, see in Jonas someone who can fix everything. It helps to voice such images and not to read failed attempts as a verdict. “Let's try it out” often does more for Jonas than a long plan.

No Shared Axis: Two Paths of Learning

Your profiles share no axis: no line of one of you finds its counterpart in the other on 1–4, 2–5 or 3–6, and no line occurs in both of you. So you learn to build trust and closeness in different ways. That's not a bad sign but a field of learning. Often the liveliest conversations come from exactly this, as long as neither of you considers their own style the only right one. Ask each other how you most like to get to know a person.

Chapter 7

Your Everyday Life as a Pair

Finally, it's about what happens every day: how you talk with each other, ask, inform and invite. The strategy of your type shows which kind of approach reaches each of you. Here you'll find how you yourself communicate most clearly, how best to reach Jonas, and a practice for seven days that you can try out together.

Manifestor: Inform Without Asking Permission

Mia · Manifestor

You communicate most clearly when you inform before you act, briefly and without asking for permission. That sometimes takes an effort, because you'd rather just get going. But a sentence like “I'm going to my sister's this weekend” takes out the surprise and spares you the resistance that would otherwise follow. Questions from Jonas are usually not an attempt at control but a wish to be included. It does you good when your breaks after intense phases don't have to be explained. Peace shows you that your informing is landing.

Generator: A Question Opens a Lot

Jonas · Generator

You reach a Generator best with concrete questions. If you ask “What do you think about a vacation up north?”, you may get a long deliberation; with “Would you like to go to the coast in May?”, Jonas usually answers right away from the gut with a yes or no. This first answer is the most reliable, even when it comes without a reason. If Jonas seems irritable or frustrated, it's worth checking whether something was just decided without asking Jonas. And you'd best present your own plans as an offer Jonas can respond to.

Seven Days, Two Observers

For one week, observe how you talk with each other and make decisions, without trying to change anything. Each evening, each of you writes down three short points: a question or announcement that landed well with you, a moment when you felt pushed or passed over, and when your energy tipped that day. Don't read your notes to each other right away, only on the seventh day, on a walk or calmly at the table. Then look for patterns together: when did questions land well, and when did announcements? Who needed more time, who less? Compare that with your types and authorities in this report. Then choose one single small change for the following week, such as yes-or-no questions in the evening or a night to think it over before shared expenses.

In Closing

This report describes mechanics, not the future. What you make of it is up to you — each of you with your own strategy and authority. Take what makes sense to you, try the practices for a while, and talk about them together. Often a new perspective alone changes a lot: where there used to be a reproach, there is now a question.
